Nigel’s Updates

Reflecting on the Big Nottingham Travel Challenge. I already do a lot of walking to exercise and lead guided walks for groups to encourage other people to enjoy walking. But signing up for the Big Nottingham Travel Challenge has really encouraged me to think even more about how I can use alternatives to the car and walk, cycle even more. The Nottingham Walking Festival which ran throughout may has been a great success with so many walks running. Being a part of this and leading some walks as part of the festival has been so rewarding. I have met some great people and had some truly memorable experiences. It has also made me think more about accessible walks and ensuring people with pushchairs are able to enjoy walking as well. Above all it has just shown how many wonderful places there are in Nottinghamshire to get outdoors, enjoy a walk, and socialise together! Thanks to everyone who came on any of the walks I led or attended.
