Leaderboard - Looking forward to hearing the results tomorrow . When I saw we dropped to a 3rd workplace position in week 2 I took it more seriously . 130 miles of cycling , lots of walks and a few bus rides after I have moved individually from about 350 th place to the top 100 . It’s looking like we might win the 20-99 workplace prize . And more importantly been continuing to fit in extra exercise . With another over 3 mile walk on Tuesday night . Making the most of the June summer evenings . Thanks Clare my colleague for getting us involved as a staff team .

Had lots of nice days and feel very encouraged, I travelled sustainably and some of this with Neens! Thank you for the opportunity to take part I really enjoyed it.

Reflecting on the Big Nottingham Travel Challenge.

I already do a lot of walking to exercise and lead guided walks for groups to encourage other people to enjoy walking. But signing up for the Big Nottingham Travel Challenge has really encouraged me to think even more about how I can use alternatives to the car and walk, cycle even more.

The Nottingham Walking Festival which ran throughout may has been a great success with so many walks running. Being a part of this and leading some walks as part of the festival has been so rewarding. I have met some great people and had some truly memorable experiences. It has also made me think more about accessible walks and ensuring people with pushchairs are able to enjoy walking as well.

Above all it has just shown how many wonderful places there are in Nottinghamshire to get outdoors, enjoy a walk, and socialise together! Thanks to everyone who came on any of the walks I led or attended.

40 journeys - Sunday night week 4. Couldn't leave it with not a round number. So finished the challenge with 3.5 mile walk after dinner. I had to re check strava couldn't believe I had been out walking for over an hour and that distance. Been lovely seeing all the photos and comments of everyone. Have a great summer everyone.

26/5/26 - Pub Crawl across Calverton Village/Arnold taking in the nice hot weather

Team spirit - My colleague Nikyla won a prize week 1 which was fantastic . Using our NCVS teams chat , Nikyla encouraged us to try for one ourselves . So week 2 invited a friend challenge . No success . Week 3 tried the 4 journeys home working challenge . No success . But still kept engaging with the programme . . Because the prize is enjoying how this challenge has improved my love of our local landscape . However It would be wonderful if I was successful with the special recognition prize of Restaurant Sat Bans . Big 60th birthday in 2026 so would be a great way to celebrate.

Enjoying the exercise and sunshine especially as we are getting improved daylight as the seasons change

Everyone can get involved - What I have liked about this challenge is that whatever your age or ability you can contribute . For myself I have had to learn to walk again 5 times due to a knee condition so can’t run or scooter . But I can log journeys walking, and cycling

Had a nice day cycling, popped into a couple of galleries on the way

Walking early with the dogs , then walking to the Gym after work to swim , feeling the benefit of the fresh air and exercise. Would love to win the bike as this would be a game changer , as my last bike had to be scrapped as i came off it resulting in 8 stitches , ouch!!

Adders avoidance walk : Normally on one of my non working days Wednesday I go swimming first thing. 1km - 40 lengths and then don't always do any further exercise that day. But because this is the last leg of the challenge I asked my friend about going for a walk. She lives Cannock way so drove to the Forestry England car park and had a lovely catch up with her. She did warn me about Adders in the forest but luckily just saw the Gruffalo version !!!

Working from home today, took Neens for an urban walk, enjoying the sunshine

Really enjoying the team angle to this challenge. I have invited 2 colleagues to join and they have made a significant contribution to our present joint 1st position in the 20-99 category. Not sure we can increase the % participation anymore because a lot of colleagues are on leave. So it will be up to the rest of us to keep increasing the number of journeys we undertake. Great to see the individual badges you can acquire. I have 10 so far . I have been for my swim this morning ( unfortunately that doesn't count) but the lady in the other swimming lane is doing a 40 triathlon in 40 days challenge so that is motivating me to do the best I can to contribute to our workplace position.

My social enterprise hosted a Family Mindful Walk on 23rd May at Bulwell Hall Park dedicated to slowing down, breathing, and reconnecting. It was a beautiful morning, and I am so grateful to everyone who joined us!

Last month, I was feeling really stressed at work. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and felt completely exhausted and unable to concentrate during the day. Early this month, I started walking much more than usual. I even replaced my bus commute with a one-hour walk. After just a few days of doing this, I'm sleeping better and feel like my strength is back. Walk Notts Festival helped motivate me to move more, and also improved my mental health.

So pleased to be taking part in this challenge, its helping me, my depression is now less

With a bank holiday weekend it enabled week 4 challenge to get off to a flying start with a 30 mile bike ride in. And at the same time completing Strava's Jet 2 cycle to sunshine challenge of 10 hours of cycling in the month of May. Finished it with 6 days to go and with 10 hours 39 minutes of cycling completed. First time I have done a strava challenge.

Remained local over bank Holiday, had fantastic time cycling and enjoying the sunshine

Met friends this Bank Holiday Monday and had a lovely walk in the shade of the woodland at Bulwell Hall Park and a great lunch at the cafe! Careful out there it's hot!

Working from home last week I made sure to go out for a walk at lunch or in the evening each day of the week to make the of the lovely weather.
